The Geordie Home Brew Kit Range is one of the UK's most enduringly popular beer kit ranges, and a firm favourite for good reason. Affordable, consistent, and genuinely easy to brew, Geordie kits have introduced countless home brewers to the hobby over the years. Each kit produces 40 pints of classic British-style beer at as little as 30p per pint.
Available in five classic British beer styles: Bitter, Yorkshire Bitter, Scottish Export Bitter, Winter Warmer, and Mild. Whether you prefer a traditional bitter, a warming seasonal ale, or a lighter mild, the Geordie range has you covered.
About the Beer Styles
- Bitter — A classic British session ale with a balanced hop bitterness and malty backbone. Probably the most-brewed style in the UK.
- Yorkshire Bitter — A slightly fuller-bodied bitter with a distinctly Northern character. Clean, satisfying, and very drinkable.
- Scottish Export Bitter — Maltier and slightly sweeter than English bitters, with a rounder, softer finish. Excellent cold.
- Winter Warmer — A darker, richer ale with warming malt character. Perfect for the colder months.
- Mild — A low-alcohol, lightly hopped dark ale with a smooth, gentle flavour. Great for those who prefer something softer.
What's Included
Each Geordie kit contains a 1.5kg tin of hopped malt extract and yeast. Just add water, sugar, and ferment for 7–10 days. Full instructions included.
What Equipment Do You Need?
A 25-litre fermentation bucket, airlock, hydrometer, siphon, and bottles or a pressure barrel. Our home brew starter kits include all of this in one bundle. A sanitiser like VWP or StarSan is essential — clean equipment produces clean-tasting beer.
Tips for Best Results
- Ferment at 18–22°C for a clean, balanced result
- Add a small amount of spray malt instead of plain sugar for a fuller body and better head retention
- Condition in the bottle or barrel for at least 7 days before drinking
- Serve cool but not ice cold to get the best flavour from these British styles
