The Muntons Connoisseurs Home Brew Kit Range is specifically formulated to produce stronger, more characterful beers that emulate classic styles from around the world. Using 1.8kg of high-quality Muntons malt extract — significantly more than a standard 1.5kg tin — these kits deliver beers with noticeably more body, depth, and alcohol content than entry-level ranges.
At £15.49 for 40 pints, that's just 39p per pint for a genuinely satisfying, full-flavoured brew. The Connoisseurs range sits between the entry-level budget kits and the premium Gold range — excellent quality at a very accessible price.
Available in eight styles: Export Pilsner, Continental Lager, Yorkshire Bitter, Traditional Bitter, Export Stout, Nut Brown Ale, IPA Bitter, and Bock Beer.
About the Beer Styles
- Export Pilsner — A crisp, well-attenuated European-style pilsner with delicate hop character and a clean, refreshing finish.
- Continental Lager — A smooth, balanced lager inspired by classic European brewing traditions. Light and very drinkable.
- Yorkshire Bitter — A full-flavoured Northern bitter with good hop character and a satisfying dry finish. True to its regional roots.
- Traditional Bitter — A classic English bitter with balanced malt and hops, earthy character, and a clean, dry finish.
- Export Stout — Rich and robust with roasted malt, chocolate and coffee notes, and a warming, full-bodied finish.
- Nut Brown Ale — A smooth, malty brown ale with nutty, caramel character and gentle sweetness. Deeply satisfying.
- IPA Bitter — A stronger, more assertively hopped IPA with citrus notes and a resinous bitter finish.
- Bock Beer — A rich, malty German-style strong lager with toasted malt character and a smooth, warming finish. Excellent for winter brewing.
Connoisseurs vs Gold vs Flagship
The Connoisseurs range uses more malt extract than standard kits but sits below the Gold range in terms of premium ingredients. For the very best Muntons has to offer, the Flagship range adds real hop pellets and produces genuine craft-quality results.
What's Included
Each 1.8kg kit contains hopped malt extract and yeast. Add water and Brew Enhancer or spray malt (recommended over plain sugar for this range) and ferment for 7–10 days. Full instructions included.
