Challenger (T90 Pellet) was released in 1972 by Wye College in the UK. It is a tall, high-yielding variety with excellent dual-purpose characteristics — firm bitterness and a pleasant, rounded aroma with notes of cedar, green tea, and spice. Widely used in British ales and lagers.
Alpha Acids: 6–9% | Beta Acids: 4–5%
A reliable bittering hop with enough character to double as an aroma variety. Pairs well with Fuggles and East Kent Goldings in traditional British recipes, and works with Willamette for a transatlantic twist. Ferment with Gervin GV12 Ale Yeast.
