Style

Dry brewing yeast typically contains less than 7% water. Stringent quality standards are applied during manufacturing to avoid microbial contamination. The remarkable stability of dry yeast allows for significant QC testing in order to ensure less than 1 bacterium or wild yeast cell detected per million cells of brewing yeast. For most strains, 1g of dry yeast contains a minimum of 5 billion viable cells, but the number will vary slightly from batch to batch.

Dry yeast is packaged under vacuum in 500g packs or 11g sachets and must be stored dry, below 4˚C (39˚F). Exposure to humidity and oxygen will affect the viability and vitality of the yeast. Do not use soft packs or sachets that appear to have lost their vacuum. Once a pack or sachet is open, use immediately for best results. If kept sealed (or re-sealed) under vacuum and stored under appropriate conditions, dry yeast can be used until the indicated expiration date, which is typically 2-3 years after manufacture.

Dry pitching is the preferred method of inoculating wort. This method is simpler than rehydration and will give more consistent fermentation performance and reduce the risk of contamination. Rehydration of yeast prior to pitching should be used only when equipment does not easily facilitate dry pitching.

  • All orders placed before 1pm will be dispatched the same day, although we will strive to dispatch all orders as soon as possible.
  • We use Royal Mail 48 Tracked for most orders, although also use DPD for next day delivery if chosen at checkout and also for some of our bigger orders.
  • Shipping time might vary depending on location and other factors.
  • If you require any items in a hurry, please get in contact and we will see what we can do to accommodate this.

Delivery Prices

  • Orders over £60 will have free shipping, although next day will accrue a £2.99 charge.
  • Orders under £60 will be charged for shipping depending on your chosen delivery method and country. Full price will be displayed at checkout.

Delivery Weight

The delivery cost is affected by this factor and broken down below:
  • Up to 500g - £4.49
  • 501g-5kg - £5.49
  • 5kg-15kg - £6.99
  • 15kg and over £7.99
Please note that the cost for the channel islands up to 5kg is £5.49 due to increased costs for smaller items.
Order Tracking
All orders, once dispatched, will be sent a tracking number. This can be used on the royal mail website https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item to track your order. If your order is sent using DPD, you can click on the tracking number sent on dispatch and this should take you through to the DPD website containing all relevant information.

Returns

You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.

Your item must be in the original packaging.

Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds


Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned

item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.

If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment).

You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Shipping

If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
