Muntons Gold India Pale Ale is a 3kg kit for a classic pale, well-hopped British IPA, inspired by the beers once brewed strong to survive the voyage to India. Muntons offer two ways to brew it: the "Troops Tipple" at about 1041 gravity, or a stronger "Higher Ranks Reserve".

How to brew it

Soften the cans in hot water, mix with 3.5 litres of boiling water, top up to 23 litres with cold water and add the yeast. Ferment at 18-20°C for 4-6 days until the gravity holds steady below 1014, then prime, keep warm for 2 days and condition somewhere cool for 14 days. Full steps: Muntons Gold instructions.
