About the Beer Styles
- Bitter — A classic English session bitter with balanced hop bitterness and a smooth malt finish. The quintessential British pub ale.
- Yorkshire Bitter — A Yorkshire-style bitter, sitting alongside the classic Bitter in the Simply range.
- Brown Ale — A dark, malty brown ale with nutty, caramel notes and a gentle sweetness. Smooth and very drinkable.
- Export Stout — Rich and roasty with deep dark malt character, hints of coffee and chocolate, and a satisfying full-bodied finish.
- Ginger Beer — A refreshing, naturally spiced ginger beer with a real ginger kick. Brilliant served ice cold or used as a mixer.
- IPA — A hop-forward India Pale Ale with citrus and floral notes and a clean, dry, bitter finish.
- Lager — A clean, crisp, well-balanced lager. Light and refreshing — best served cold.
- Mild — A low-alcohol, lightly hopped dark ale with a smooth, gentle character. Easy drinking and approachable.
- Pale Ale — A golden pale ale with a delicate hop character and a clean, balanced malt base.
What's Included
Each kit contains hopped malt extract and yeast. Add water and sugar (or light spray malt for a fuller result) and ferment for 7–10 days. Full instructions included.
What Equipment Do You Need?
A 25-litre fermentation bucket, airlock, hydrometer, siphon, and bottles or a barrel. Our home brew starter kits include everything in one bundle. A good sanitiser is essential.
Tips for Best Results
- Use light spray malt in place of sugar for better body and head retention
- Ferment at 18–22°C and avoid temperature swings
- Condition in the bottle for at least 7 days before drinking

Im new to home brewing and I have tried a couple of other makers, but I have to say you cant go wrong with the Simply IPA. The taste is amazing its a lovely brew. Having tried other makes I think I will be trying more in the Simply range based on quality of the product and the cost. You do need to add Brew inhancer or Brewing sugar but thats minimal cost. I highly recomend any new brewer to start here with this range before trying others ts a benchmark, personally I think I will always have a Simply Brew brewing.
I have tried most of the Simply range now: pale ale, IPA, Yorkshire bitter, bitter, brown ale and export stout. As kits in the economy range they cannot be beaten; in fact they are better than some brands that cost a few pounds more - bear in mind these are 1.8 kg not 1.5 kg. Very pleased with them.
One very minor point: the yeast sachet is rather hard to detach from the plastic container.

tastes nice, and good vvaue too, just add 1kg of sugar, easy to make. much b etter value than from buying in the shops( certainly in scotland anyway !)
