How to choose a cider kit

What it does: this page lists every cider kit we stock in one place. Search, filter by style or brand, sort by price or ABV, and tick up to four kits to compare side by side.

How to use it: decide whether you like traditional dry apple cider or something fruity and sweet, then filter by style. Narrow down by brand, sort by price or ABV, tick the kits you like and press Compare.

What to compare: check how much each kit makes, the expected ABV, and whether you need to add sugar. Fruit ciders often come with a separate flavour pack that goes in after fermentation.

Worked example: say you want a fruit cider for summer. Filter by fruity styles and sort by ABV to find a lighter one, then compare two or three to see which needs sugar and how many pints each makes.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a cider kit take?
Most cider kits ferment in one to two weeks, then need conditioning in bottles or a pressure barrel before they're at their best. Check the instructions for your kit.
Can I make my cider sweeter?
Many fruit cider kits include a flavour pack added after fermentation. You can also use a non-fermentable sweetener, which sweetens without restarting fermentation.
Do I need different equipment for cider?
No. Cider kits use the same fermenter, airlock, hydrometer and bottles or pressure barrel as beer kits.
