6 Bottle Winemaking Kits

A 6-bottle wine kit makes about 4.5 litres, enough for six standard 75cl bottles, in a single 5L demijohn. It's a low-cost way to try a new grape or fruit wine, or to start winemaking without a big fermenter. We stock 6-bottle kits from Beaverdale, WineBuddy, Solomon Grundy (Classic, Gold and Country fruit wines) and more, plus starter packs that include the equipment.

Buying guide & FAQs

Choosing a 6-bottle wine kit

Grape wines

The Beaverdale 6 Bottle range covers grapes such as Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo and Chardonnay. The WineBuddy 6 Bottle range is quick and simple. The Solomon Grundy Gold and Classic ranges cover popular reds, whites and rosés.

Fruit wines

For something different, try the WineBuddy Fruit kits (Blackberry, Elderflower, Peach) or the Solomon Grundy Country range, which includes Bilberry, Black Cherry and Apricot.

Starting from scratch?

A starter pack gives you the equipment and a kit together. Options include the 6 Bottle Wine Starter Pack with Beaverdale kit, the WineBuddy 6 Bottle Starter Kit range, and the Hedgerow starter pack, where you add your own fruit. If you only need the equipment, see the 6 Bottle Wine Starter Kit.

What you'll need

A 5L glass demijohn with airlock and bung, a hydrometer, ChemSan, a syphon, six wine bottles and corks. Check each kit's instructions for whether you need brewing sugar.
