Collection: Kegging & Draught Equipment | Home Brew On Tap | BrewCo UK
Kegging and draught equipment transforms your home brewing setup from a bottling operation into a proper mini-pub, letting you serve your homebrew fresh on tap at the perfect temperature and carbonation. At BrewCo UK we stock a comprehensive range of home brew kegs and kegging equipment — pressure barrels, King Kegs, Cornelius (corny) kegs, kegerators, CO2 gas and chargers, regulators, taps, disconnects and cleaning kit — everything you need to get your homebrew flowing from keg to glass.
Pressure barrels are the classic British starting point. The King Keg is one of the most popular and trusted pressure barrels in UK home brewing — a 40-pint vessel that stores and serves your beer under pressure without external gas equipment. Prime your beer, seal the keg, and use CO2 chargers to maintain serving pressure for fresh, lively draught-style homebrew with a proper head. For brewers who want to skip washing and filling forty bottles every batch, kegging is a genuine game-changer.
Corny kegs and gas systems are the next step up: stainless steel Cornelius kegs paired with a CO2 regulator and gas cylinder give you precise, adjustable carbonation and the same serving setup used in modern craft breweries. Force-carbonate in days, fine-tune your pour, and keep beer fresh for months. And for the full home-bar experience, the Kegmaster Premium XL 3-tap kegerator chills and serves three kegs at once with pub-quality pours on demand. Our range also covers ball-lock disconnects, beer and gas line, taps, and cleaning and sanitising essentials for keeping lines and kegs spotless between brews.
Kegging FAQs
What is a corny keg?
A Cornelius (corny) keg is a stainless steel keg originally designed for soft drinks, now the homebrew standard. The common size is 19 litres (5 US gallons), which holds most of a standard 23-litre brew — many brewers keg 19 litres and bottle the remainder. Ball-lock posts connect the gas in and beer out lines with simple push-fit disconnects.
Pressure barrel or corny keg — which should I choose?
A pressure barrel is cheaper, simpler and needs no gas bottle — ideal for traditional ales served at low carbonation. A corny keg setup costs more upfront but gives precise carbonation control, colder serving, longer freshness and a more pub-like pour. Many brewers start with a King Keg and graduate to cornies.
How do you carbonate beer in a keg?
Two ways: naturally, by priming with sugar and letting the yeast carbonate under pressure (works in pressure barrels and cornies alike), or force-carbonating a corny by chilling the beer and applying CO2 at 10–12 PSI for around a week — faster and more controllable.
How do you clean a keg?
Rinse immediately after emptying, soak with an oxygen-based cleaner like Chemclean sodium percarbonate to remove beer stone and residue, rinse, then sanitise with a no-rinse sanitiser such as Chemsan before refilling. Don't forget dip tubes, posts and beer lines — they harbour most off-flavours.
