How to choose a white wine kit
Crisp and dry
For a light, zesty white, choose a Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. Options include WineBuddy Pinot Grigio, Beaverdale Sauvignon Blanc, Winexpert Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and the SG Wines Classic Dry White.
Fuller and rounder
Chardonnay and Viognier give more body. Try Beaverdale Chardonnay, Winexpert California Chardonnay or Winexpert California Viognier.
Medium and sweet
For a softer style, look at SG Wines Gold Piesporter, Magnum Medium Dry White, SG Wines Classic Sweet White and the Winexpert Riesling.
Batch size
Six-bottle kits, such as Beaverdale Pinot Grigio 6 bottle, ferment in a 5L demijohn. Kits of 28–30 bottles make about 23 litres in a 25L fermenter.
What else you'll need
A fermenter or demijohn with an airlock, a hydrometer, ChemSan, bottles and corks. Chill whites well before serving.
