The Best Malbec Wine Kits in the UK — Reviewed

What is the best Malbec wine kit in the UK?

The Beaverdale 30-Bottle Malbec is our top recommendation — deep colour, ripe blackberry and plum, dark chocolate notes, and a smooth full finish with fine tannins, at under £2 per bottle. Beaverdale is widely regarded as the finest home wine kit brand available in the UK. For a quick-turnaround option, the Beaverdale 6-Bottle Malbec delivers the same quality in compact format. How good are Beaverdale Malbec kits really?

Genuinely impressive — the Beaverdale 30-bottle Malbec consistently produces results that rival commercial Malbec bottles costing several times the price. Deep colour, complex dark fruit, smooth tannins, and a long finish. At around £48 for 30 bottles (under £1.60 per bottle), it's exceptional value. How do you get the best results from a Malbec wine kit?

Ferment at a stable 18–22°C. Degas thoroughly before adding finings — stir vigorously to drive off dissolved CO2 or it will inhibit clearing. Allow adequate time to clear completely before bottling, and then age in the bottle for at least 4 weeks. A well-conditioned Beaverdale Malbec at 6–8 weeks is noticeably better than one drunk at 2 weeks. Always confirm fermentation is complete with a hydrometer before adding finings and stabiliser.
