How to use

Sanitise the bung and airlock with ChemSan, push the airlock stem into the hole, then press the bung firmly into the neck of the demijohn. Half-fill the airlock with water or sanitiser solution.

Will this fit my demijohn?

It is made for standard 1 gallon glass demijohns, the size usually sold as 5 litre demijohns. Very old or non-standard necks can vary.

Does it come with an airlock?

No, the bung is sold on its own. It accepts any standard airlock, such as our Handy Airlock or Bubbler Airlock.

What is the difference between bored and plain bungs?

A bored bung has a hole for an airlock and is used during fermentation. A plain (solid) bung or cork seals the demijohn once fermentation has finished.

How do I clean it?

Wash it in warm water, then sanitise with ChemSan before use. ChemSan is no-rinse, so you can fit it straight away.
