How to brew it

Warm the can, pour it into a sanitised fermenter with about 3.5 litres of boiling water and 1kg of brewing sugar, stir well, then top up with cold water to 23 litres. Sprinkle on the yeast at 18-21°C and leave to ferment for 4-6 days, or until your hydrometer reading holds steady for 3 days. Prime with half a teaspoon of sugar per pint, keep warm for two days, then store somewhere cool for about 14 days until clear.

Who it is for

A good pick if you prefer darker, maltier ales to pale bitters. You will need 1kg of Brewing & Winemaking Sugar, a 25 litre fermenter, a hydrometer and ChemSan no-rinse sanitiser. See the rest of the Tom Caxton range.
