The Bulldog Cider Making Starter Kit has everything a beginner needs to make 40 pints (23 litres) of cider at home: a Bulldog cider kit of your choice plus a 25 litre fermenter with tap and the essential equipment. All you need to add is bottles.

How to make it

Sanitise everything, warm the can or pouch, mix it with hot water in the fermenter and top up with cold water to 23 litres. Add the yeast, fit the lid and airlock, and leave it at about 18–22°C for one to two weeks until the hydrometer reading stays the same. You'll also need

• Bottles – about 40 × 500ml bottles (or a pressure barrel): 500ml PET bottles (24), or 500ml amber crown-cap bottles with a capper and 100 crown caps – or a King Keg pressure barrel instead. See all home brew bottles.
