  • 1.8kg can with yeast included

How to brew it

Warm the can, pour it into a sanitised fermenter with about 3.5 litres of boiling water and 1kg of brewing sugar, stir well, then top up with cold water to 23 litres. Sprinkle on the yeast at 18-21°C and leave to ferment for 4-6 days, or until your hydrometer reading holds steady for 3 days. Prime with half a teaspoon of sugar per pint, keep warm for two days, then store somewhere cool for about 14 days until clear.

Who it is for

Anyone who grew up on a northern pint, or who finds southern bitters a touch too dry. Brew it in a 25 Litre Fermentation Vessel with Tap with 1kg of Brewing & Winemaking Sugar, and bottle with the Beer Capper + 100 Crown Caps Bundle. See the full Tom Caxton range.
