Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 (1kg) is a blend of dextrose, maltodextrin, and Light Dry Malt specifically formulated to replace plain sugar in home brew beer kits. It produces a noticeably fuller body, better head retention, and more rounded malt character than dextrose or household sugar alone. Brew Enhancer 2 is our most popular enhancer and the one we recommend for the majority of standard home brew kits — it's a significant upgrade in your finished pint for minimal extra cost.

Use in place of the 1kg of sugar called for in your beer kit instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Brew Enhancer 1, 2 and 3?
Brew Enhancer 1 is dextrose plus maltodextrin — good body improvement for lagers and pale ales. Brew Enhancer 2 adds Light Dry Malt on top, giving better head retention and malt character — the best all-rounder. Brew Enhancer 3 has a higher proportion of dry malt, producing the fullest body and malt flavour, ideal for ales, bitters and stouts.
Can I use Brew Enhancer 2 with any beer kit?
Yes. It works with Coopers kits and any other brand including Muntons, Woodforde's, St Peters, Better Brew, and MasterPint. It's a universal improvement over plain sugar for any malt-extract kit.
How much Brew Enhancer 2 should I use?
Use the full 1kg pack in place of the sugar called for in your kit instructions. Don't use less — the kit is calibrated to hit the right original gravity with a full kilo of fermentable addition.
Will Brew Enhancer 2 change the flavour of my beer?
Yes, positively. The Light Dry Malt adds genuine malt character, improves head retention, and produces a fuller, rounder mouthfeel compared to plain sugar or dextrose alone. The difference is noticeable in the finished pint.
Is Brew Enhancer 2 better than spraymalt?
Spraymalt produces slightly better results as it's 100% malt-based, but Brew Enhancer 2 is more affordable and still a major upgrade over sugar. For premium kits, consider stepping up to spraymalt.
