Frequently Asked Questions
What do Galaxy hops taste like?
Galaxy is pure tropical intensity: passion fruit dominates, backed by peach, citrus and a hint of berry. It has one of the highest oil contents of any commercial hop, which is why a little Galaxy goes such a long way in aroma.
How should I use Galaxy hops?
Keep it late — whirlpool below 80°C and dry hop are where Galaxy shines (30–60g per 23L dry hop). Prolonged boiling wastes its oils, and very heavy dry hop rates can turn slightly harsh, so build up rather than overloading.
What can I substitute for Galaxy hops?
Citra is the nearest widely available substitute for its passion fruit-citrus character; Nelson Sauvin covers the exotic fruit angle from a different direction. A Citra + Mosaic blend gets close in a pinch.
