What Equipment Do You Need?
This kit is ingredients-only. You'll also need a 25-litre fermentation bucket, airlock, hydrometer, siphon, and bottles or a pressure barrel. Our home brew starter kits include everything in one bundle. Always sanitise with VWP or ChemSan.
Tips for Best Results
- For extra wheat character and improved head retention, add 500g of Thomas Coopers Wheat Malt Extract
- Upgrade the yeast to Mangrove Jack's M20 Bavarian Wheat Yeast — a genuine wheat beer strain, unlike the standard ale yeast included. It's what actually produces the banana and clove character a Hefeweizen needs; a neutral or English ale yeast won't give you that
- Do not add finings — the haze is intentional
