Winexpert Private Reserve is the top of the range — ultra-premium winemaking kits using the finest varietal juices from the world's best growing regions. Each kit uses a full 14 litres of grape concentrate (against 10L for Reserve and 7.5L for Classic), giving noticeably more depth, body and length. Ready to drink in 6-8 weeks.
What's Included
Each kit contains premium grape juice concentrate, yeast, finings, stabiliser, and full instructions. Just add water — no additional sugar required.
What Equipment Do You Need?
A 23-litre fermentation vessel, airlock, hydrometer, siphon, and 28-30 bottles. New to home winemaking? Our wine starter kits include all the essentials. Always sanitise thoroughly with VWP or ChemSan.
Choosing (and upgrading) your yeast
With this much concentrate, it's worth pairing a yeast that can do it justice. For full-bodied reds, Mangrove Jack's R56 is built for rich reds with real aromatic depth. For crisp, aromatic whites, Mangrove Jack's CL23 keeps things clean and fresh. If your fermenting spot runs cold over winter (often under 15°C), Lalvin EC-1118 is a reliable fallback across styles.
Tips for Best Results
- Ferment reds at 20-22°C, whites at 16-18°C for best varietal expression
- Allow wines to clear fully before bottling — don't rush this step
- With this much concentrate, reds especially reward 3+ months of bottle conditioning
