Scottish beers have a reputation for being maltier and rounder than their English cousins, and the Geordie Scottish Export Bitter delivers exactly that character in a kit that's ready faster than most all-grain attempts at the style. At £11.75 for 40 pints, see the spec panel above for the exact figures.
This is the individual single-style kit. For the full range of Geordie styles in one listing, see the Geordie Home Brew Kit Range.
What's Included
A 1.5kg tin of hopped bitter malt extract and a sachet of yeast. Add water and 1kg brewing sugar or medium spray malt.

What Equipment Do You Need?
This kit is ingredients-only. You'll also need a 25-litre fermentation bucket, airlock, hydrometer, siphon, and bottles or a pressure barrel. Our home brew starter kits include everything in one bundle. Always sanitise with VWP or ChemSan.
Tips for Best Results
- Use medium spray malt instead of plain sugar — Scottish styles lean on malt character more than hop bitterness, so this upgrade matters more here than in most bitters
- Traditionally served a little warmer than a lager but still well chilled — don't serve this one ice cold, it mutes the malt sweetness that defines the style
- Good with red meat, game, or a hearty stew — the malt backbone stands up to rich food
