Beer Hops
Choose hops by the flavour you want. English hops such as Fuggles, Goldings and Challenger give earthy, floral and spicy notes for bitters and porters. American and New World hops such as Citra, Mosaic, Cascade and Galaxy give the citrus, pine and tropical fruit of modern IPAs. German and Czech hops such as Saaz and Tettnanger give the delicate spice of lagers. All our hops are T90 pellets, sold in 100g and 200g packs.
Buying guide & FAQs
Bittering, aroma or dry hopping?
When you add hops changes what they do. Hops boiled for 60 minutes add bitterness to balance the malt. Hops added in the last 15 minutes or at flame-out add flavour and aroma. Dry hops, added to the fermenter after the main fermentation, add the most aroma with very little bitterness. Higher-alpha hops such as Columbus, Summit, Target and Chinook are efficient bittering hops. Aroma hops such as Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo and Goldings shine late in the boil or in the fermenter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are T90 hop pellets?
T90 pellets are whole hops milled and pressed into pellets. They store well, measure easily and give good utilisation in the boil and when dry hopping. They are the most common hop format for home brewing.
Which hops are best for an IPA?
For a modern, fruity IPA, use Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Amarillo or Galaxy late in the boil and as dry hops. For a classic English IPA, use Challenger or Target for bittering and Goldings or Fuggles for aroma. See our hops comparison chart.
Which hops should I use for a British bitter?
Fuggles and Goldings are the classic pairing. Challenger, Target and Progress are also traditional English choices.
How much hops do I need to dry hop a beer kit?
For a 23L batch, 25–50g gives a noticeable aroma and up to 100g gives a very hoppy result. Add the hops once the main fermentation slows and leave them for 3–5 days before bottling. See our step-by-step dry hopping guide.
How should I store hops?
Keep hops sealed, with as little air as possible, in the freezer. That protects them from oxygen, heat and light, which fade their aroma and bitterness.
